Work is different for everyone. Work isn't 8-5, go to an office, sit in cube, type on PC. Not in 2015. Heck for a large part of the world it's never been that way. The IT setup part you dismiss.....um...that is someones work right there, you know.

However much of a stretch the title of the article may or may not be it has some valid points. As for the snarky attitude - that's the Register. They pretty much invented it for IT blogs, it drives a lot of angry/passionate discussion, which keeps them relevant. It's kind of a prototype click-bait site like Huffpost, etc. later perfected.

PS The LAN networking/share issue with MSA accounts is a known one that is mitigated if you switch from using a pin to a password. It is supposedly fixed in the next build. Switching off my Pin fixed it for me, immediately. If it shipped like that I would be upset but this is a preview so I expect that kind of thing.

The interface design choices being scattered - again, the real point of the Register post - is a bigger problem, because it's not just a series of bugs they haven't gotten around to fixing/implementing yet, it's a reflection of the lack of an overall unified direction in UI design and styling. Looks are one thing but UI/UX is much more important. They need to get the latter right, and quick.

 

It should probably be noted that the headline of a news story is almost never composed by the author of the story - the editorial staff makes up headlines.

 

Absolutely, also remember The Register is just like this tenforums.com site and it sister sites sevenforums.com and eightforums.com rely on advertising so the more articulate the headline the more riled up the users get.
