Windows 10: Webcam not working

I have an HP Spectre 365 that had Windows 10 from the start, I recently tried to attend a Zoom mtg only to find out the Webcam isn't working. I went through all the recommended fixes to no avail. I went to Device Manager and camera was not listed on it's own or under Imaging devices, until I clicked on view and checked "show hidden devices" at which point "camera" appeared in the listing, I then went through the hoops again, to no avail. The last thing was to click on "Uninstall" and then "scan for hardware changes" and in theory "reinstall", except when I went to "scan for hardware changes" it doesn't give me the option to reinstall anything now the Camera is gone. So do I need to install drivers? How do I know which ones? How do I do it.

Since you mentioned that you already reinstalled the driver for your webcam, we suggest that you perform these troubleshooting steps to resolve your concern:

• Run the troubleshooter for Windows apps.
• Install the driver using the compatibility mode.

Webcam had disappeared

Hi,

The webcam may have stopped working due to hardware failure, or a loose cable that connects it to the device’s motherboard. We suggest that you try to show hidden devices in
Device Manager by following these steps:

• Right-click on the Start menu and select Device Manager.
• Click on the View tab and select Show hidden devices.
  

If you are seeing the webcam drivers, uninstall them. Then restart your device to check if Windows will be able to recognize the webcam and will install the drivers.
