Windows 10: Webcam red light on permanently

Hi, I use Windows 10. Nearly a year ago I bought my first webcam for Zoom etc but had to replace it with identical model intrusive background sound. The old webcam came on red light when accessing Zoom - and still does when I reconnect it into the USB. But the new one's red light shows whenever PC is switched on. Is there a Windows setting so the new webcam red light performs like the old one? Many thanks.

Yes it is possible to turn of the red light during the video shooting mode. What you have to do here is follow the below steps:

• If you will press the Q and W from the keypad it will set the Flash LEDs on and off,
• And if you will press the E and R from the keypad then it will set the red recording LED on and off,
• Also if you will press the A and S it will adjust the focus,
• And the D to correct the auto focus.

This is a common concern when the camera is not plugged in properly. To further isolate the root cause, provide information on the following:

• Tell us more on what's happening when you try the camera. (black screen, no lights, no power, etc)
  
• Is this happening on Skype only and not on other apps?
• Tell us any troubleshooting steps you've done for us to avoid repeating it.

Webcam light coming on by itself


Alright so this is making me a fair bit suspicious. Every now and then the webcam light on my laptop comes on even when I have no programs running that run webcams (e.g. Skype).

I disabled the driver for the webcam and the light turned off, did a restart, and then enabled the driver again. When I did, the light wasn't on.

Is this a system glitch or is it something I should be worried about? I've already run programs like MalwareBytes, CCleaner, and Avast to see if there was any issue, but nothing came up.
