Windows 10: WebDAV network drive mount via 'net use' not works until restarting WebClient service.

WebDAV error after upgrading to Windows 10

One of my users have upgraded to windows 10 and since then has not able to copy files to our webdav server.

Below is the error we get every time we copy/drag from a file from windows folder to webdav folder.

The following has been tried, has worked in previous windows versions but not working on windows 10:

• 
  Changing the below registry settings
  
  • Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Parameters
  • In this key, change the value of BasicAuthLevel to 2
• 
  I have tried both of the below
  
  • Map network drive
  • Add network location
• 
  Tried using webdav client Cyberduck but it does not work on windows 10
  

Is there any other change of setting or an alternate recommended client that I can try?

 

Able to access a password protected webdav using Edge browser, but unable to mount as network drive

If none of the above solutions work, you may want to try using third-party software to mount your WebDAV server as a network drive. Some popular options include WebDrive and NetDrive.

 

Windows 10 WebClient won't start

For us to know how we can help you start the WebClient service in your Windows 10 computer, please answer these questions:

• How did you attempt to start the service?
• Have you installed updates on the computer?
• What is the current Startup type selected for the WebClient service?

Follow these steps to check the Startup type of the service:

• Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard.
• Type services.msc then press Enter.
• Locate WebClient on the list of services.
• Right-click on the said service and select Properties.

You will see the current Startup type of the service. You can also stop and restart the service on the same window.
