Windows 10: Weird background issue

Ok this issue does not happen a lot just once in a while. https://imgur.com/gallery/JEuVxG0

Basically what the image shows is a 4k monitor on left and a 1440p on right. Left monitor background stuck at right monitor resolution.

For whatever reason once in a while the 4k monitor gets stuck with a background the same resolution as the right monitor after logging in. When it starts happening repeatedly upon login, I can either log out and back in or reboot and log back in. OR if it keeps happening i do a sfc and a dism scan and its good for a while but it keeps coming back.

Does not seem to be a install issue because previous installs would do it as well. Also various major versions of windows 10.

I haven't been able to find a search term that comes up with anything related to this occurring.

Slideshow as desktop background.

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows Logo Key + I. Then click on Personalization.
• Click on Background to change it.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

As a workaround, I suggest you to change the desktop background/ remove the desktop background and check.

I suggest you to create a new user account and check if it fixes the issue. Refer to the steps below to create a new User Account:

• Go to Settings.
• Choose Accounts and then select Other User Accounts towards the left.
• Select Add an Account.
• Enter a user name and hit Next.
• Click on Finish.
• Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
• Check if issue persists.
