Windows 10: Weird Cortana Issue

What is your Region set to? Settings > Time & language > Region & language. If it's set to United States, change it to UK.

 

Thanks for reply. My region and language is set to United Kingdom.

Edit: Although having said that my Speech is set to United States and won't let me choose anything else. Seems like it will only work if I set everything to US?

 

Reread my above posts, I had to install the English Canada Language pack that also had with it a English Canada Speech part. Two things were installed. After that I could select English Canada for Speech.

 

Ah OK thank you for that. I don't have a mic though all I want is for UK news to show not US? Does Cortana only show US news?

 

I don't have a mic either but without the Speech install Cortana wouldn't work at all for me. English US is my default language for my keyboard and everything else. It's only Cortana that is set to English Canada.

 

Oh right. Thank you very much. It's strange how the news feed works. I thought I'd be getting BBC or ITV news etc but it's all Fox and CBS

You need to install Speech.
Go back to Settings > Time & Language >Region & Language >click at your English (United Kingdom) > click Option ............
That will lead you to a window where you can install Speech. Install it.
The go back to Time & Language >click Speech > change Speech to English (United Kingdom)

If you have the following settings done, you should see your own country's newsfeed in Cortana.
Country & region set as United Kingdom,
Language set as English (United Kingdom) and set as Default ,
Speech set as English (United Kingdom)
