Windows 10: Weird issue with screen not coming back on

I did an upgrade from Win7, and it worked fine before. In the last couple of days it did an upgrade, and I'm thinking maybe its that which is causing the issue (as rolling back to pre-upgrade yesterday, it still has some of the display issues)

Also, on a side note. I have disabled "turn off screen" mode in the screensaver settings. Since then, I've not had the "black screen" issue. So I'm wondering if its a bug around the part where it goes into screensaver, and then powersave after x mins. Bit of a weird issue!

Happy to read you haven't had the issue! Your probably correct on the update. Do you know which one it was so you can uninstall it? Like you stated GFX problems can be tricky...WHQL is MS stamp of approval if you will that the drivers have been tested to work with the OS. Now with the Anniversary edition coming any day now hopefully you won't have any problems upgrading. You might also want to do a clean install. More sanitary *Smile Cleans out the previous install and can eliminate any conflicts that might of been carried over. Just use your Win 7 key when installing and you'll get activated. I'm not sure - it did a few updates 3 or 4 days ago (but just did them automated, so not sure which one affected it). I didn't realise you could uninstall updates?

Yeah - its a bit tricky, as this is my work machine. I've got a ton of software on here, and some of it I don't have copies of any more. I've cleaned out the old Win7 files (at least, told Win10 to do it... so I assume its moved all the legacy stuff!)

Just as an update on this one. I had another thread, as I thought maybe something was funky with the graphics drivers:

Upgrading to a later version of AMD's drivers seems to have sorted it (fingers crossed!). Only time will tell.

Unfortunately, it just did it again for me (after leaving it in power save while eating dinner). Eugh! Maybe will see how the Win10 updates go in the next update, to see if that fixes it.
