Windows 10: weird keyboard behaviour

I was playing GTA V, enjoying time with my friend. Then all of a sudden, pressing W does not walk my character forward. it kept showing this menu about pen input or something. On action center it shows me a notification about something along the lines of "Microsoft Keyboard Input" and says something like "your language isn't supported. I tried to press another button, it brings me to the desktop. everything was strange; pressing D refreshes the desktop. Pressing A brings up the action center. Pressing S brings up search.

Is this an accessibility setting that i accidentally turned on? i also can't type either, because it kept lanuching different shit.

However, i was frustrated. This is the 2nd time i had this thing and last time i restarted the PC. I quit the game, say goodbye, just to see the keyboard work normally again. the weird setting has turned off by itself by inactivity. I was going to start the game again, but i was pissed off.

So any ideas what bizzare setting i turned on that's causing this? thanks!

Weird behaviour after clean start

Hey,

I've been having issues with Win10pc - v. high memory usage and unresponsive for 10 mins after waking up - so I ran the Memory
Diagnostic Tool from this site and then followed the Clean Boot instructions it contains.

I now have some weird behaviour:

• My PC won't accept keyboard input into the Win10 Search bar or MS Edge but other browsers, apps and MS Office suite work fine.
• MS Word/Excel started as usual but when I tried to start Outlook it didn't show the UI for about 10-15 mins.

I have re-started PC a couple of times with no errors.

Grateful for any help in diagnosing.

 

Weird behaviour from keyboard and various software

Running Windows 10 on a desktop. Replicated with different keyboards. All of this happened yesterday

1. Shift key in Firefox causes LEAVE PAGE. But no effect in OpenOffice

2. Typing an entry into File Explorer tries to autocomplete but flashes the title and won't allow deleting characters unless Shift Key is held down
3. Hovering over the folder list in File Explorer causes scroll down which stops if the shift key is held down. On the body causes scroll left

4. Same behaviour on Start Screen
5. Holding the Ctrl key without a plus sign causes zoom in office

6. All drop down menus in FIREFOX and other apps appear for an instant then vanish and can't be accessed

Method 1: Use the hardware troubleshooter to fix the issue

The Hardware Troubleshooter is an automated tool which will check the hardware connected to the computer for any known issues with it and provides the details and on how to fix them. Follow these steps and run the troubleshooter.
Follow these steps:

• Press Windows key to get the Start menu.
• Type Troubleshooting in the search box right up corner and hit enter.
• Click on Troubleshooting tab.
• Click on view all option on the upper left corner.
• Select the Hardware and Device options from the list.
• Click Next to run the Hardware and Device Troubleshooter.

Method 2: Also I suggest you to update the latest keyboard drivers for Windows 10 from the manufactures website if not available then install the driver in compatibility mode and check if it helps.
