Windows 10: Weird locking up issue

Hey guys I posted in here some time ago, but I'm unable to find the thread so apologise for spam. I'm currently at wits end with a friends pc, I was told her pc lock ups and blue screens were looking towards a ram issue, she bought a Corsair 16GB DDR3 Vengeance kit (2 8GB sticks) but when she boots up a game her pc just locks up, no BSOD just a lock up, I thought it might have been overheating but she cleaned it yesterday so can't be that, could it be a bad DIMM slot? or Hard drive related? For what it's worth shes running Windows 10 with all the updates up to date.

Hard drive/ OS issue

• shutdown
• unhooked HDD
• restarted
• yay !!
• reconnected HDD
• restarted
• yay !!

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

 

Lock Screen Image Issue

I would suggest you to set the default pictures as the Lock Screen picture from the PC and check if it works or not.

Follow the steps below:

• In start type "settings" and press enter.
• Select Personalize
• From the left click on "Lock screen"
• Select the default picture and conform by preview.
