Windows 10: Weird system tray icon issue!

I use my Samsung UHD TV as a monitor and have noticed that, if I put my TV into standby but leave windows 10 running in the background, when I turn my tv back on the icons in the system tray area not desktop or taskbar become corrupted. They appear as little blank squares or just a space where the icon should be. So far the only way to return the icons to normal is by restarting windows explorer each time.


This only started happening after the most recent windows upgrade so I not sure if this is a bug, common issue or related to the UHD TV and Graphics drivers.

Do let us know which is the icon you have deleted from the system tray for better assistance?

I suggest you to try the below steps to add the icons to Taskbar and check if it helps.

• Press Windows key, click on Settings.
• Click on System> Notifications & actions.
• Click on Select which icons appear on taskbar (to select the icons that appear on Taskbar)
  and also click on Turn system icons on or off

One Drive Icon Missing From System Tray


I have been having some weird problem with One Drive and have received several suggestions to look at the settings of One Drive by right clicking on the System Tray One Drive icon. That icon is not in the System Tray. How do I find it?

Eureka! Finally tried uninstalling and reinstalling OneDrive and now cloudy skies are now serene.
