    Weird virus alert from Microsoft New laptop computer regestration illegal


    I jut purchased a new Lenovo laptop. I had been entering favorites and a window pops up and tells me to call 1 866-217-6178


    A voice keep repeating the following phrase "We blocked this computer for your security. this window I using pirated software this window sending virus over the internet. Your computer registration key I illegal etc.

    how can I get out of this window

    On my old computer I jut removed the battery and unplugged it for several seconds. then I rebooted and all wa fine but my new computer dose not have a removable battery.

    The alert you received about virus is a common scam. We suggest that you close Microsoft Edge immediately. Make sure not to restore the sessions when you reopen Microsoft Edge.

    Random Virus alert

    Earlier when I was using my computer I got a random virus/malware alert and telling me to call a number.

    Is this a genuine Microsoft alert or is it some kinda malware on my computer?
