Weird Windows visual appearance after updating to version 1809

    Hi,

Yesterday I've received the latest feature update ( Version 1809, OS Build 17763.253 )

What I used to do on previous versions of Windows is Uncheck "Show shadows under windows" in the performance options,

and you can see it in this screenshot:

Then I set the Windows color to the darkest black value allowed, then I Uncheck "Show accent color on the title bars and window borders"

then I choosed the Light Mode.
and you can see it in this screenshot:

Well, the expected behavior was totally on point and nothing wrong was with it on the previous version on Windows 10,

But now, using 1809, this is the result I get on any "File Explorer's window"

and you can see in this screenshot:

    2nd screenshot, about this issue:

    Just in case,

All I want at this moment is edges being displayed the way they should be, and to be able to maintain my personalization of Windows 10 using the latest version,

Is there any tricks or modifications on the Windows Registry to make the edges back without waiting for a fix in the future?

I'm not really sure, but I feel this issue might be related to the new dark mode for windows explorer that has been added to the new version recently.

    Waiting for your response,

    Thank you so much.

    :)

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond Weird Windows visual appearance after updating to version 1809 :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.

    WMP for version 1809...

My Windows 10 N, version 1803 had used Windows Media Player via installing it from the "Windows_MediaFeaturePack_x64_1803.msu" file.

Updating to 1809 removed the WMP and no longer available in the apps list:

There's an updated version listed at:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...ows-n-editions

But clicking on the link and looking for the 1809 in the drop down list of versions does not show the media feature pack available for download for 1809; instead it shows version 1709 and 1803.

Does anyone have a direct link to WMP for Windows 10 N, version 1809?

    TIA...
