    Don't need any fancy stuff.
    As suggested by many in this thread, use Windows Media Player for music, and VLC for videos and DVDs.

    download the file related to the VLC version you have for 2.08 choose 208 and so on, lates VLC version is 2.21 so choose 221

    Vlc is my fav player. It plays all formats of mp3 and videos. For online videos use it's streaming feature. You have to just copy video link and paste.
