Windows 10: What do I do if Updates do not complete?

Cumulative Update KB4598242, said installing 100%. Sat there forever, then started over. Went to 22%, and now frozen there.

Should I restart my PC. appears I cannot do anything else, like load a game while that is going on. Began at 8:20AM it is now 9:26 AM and still sitting at 22%. I have done nothing on my PC except to bring up Edge, which by the way took a long time to come up.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the update and response.

I suggest you to go to Windows services and restart the Windows Update service and check if it helps. Follow the below steps to do so.

Steps:-

• Press Windows Key + R and type “services.msc” (without quotes)
• Hit Enter.
• Search for Windows Update service in the list.
• Right Click on it and stop it.
• Again right click on it and start it.
