    What do the rectangles in the calendar mean?

    Been trying to figure this out, but I can't. On the agenda view, my events have rectangles next to them. Some are empty rectangles, some are filled rectangles, and one event seems to have a faded fill.

    What the heck do they mean?

    Settings > Message list > Sender pictures > Off.
    You can't turn them off in Reading Pane, fortunately not printed, at least the index letters don't.
