Windows 10: WHAT DO YOU LOCK THE TASKBAR FOR?

Hi,


Using a limited search I didn't find the answer to this question on the Internet.


Each time a person would ask what locking a taskbar does or some other similar question as to the reason behind this option they would only get instructions on how to turn it on or off.


When I'm watching videos, I like to have the taskbar disappear and reappear only when I trigger it to.


When I'm taking screen captures, I like to keep the taskbar visible so that the date and time that is on the task bar will show up in the screen capture.

Should I lock the taskbar each time I select on or off?


Is the lock to keep the taskbar in the position on the screen that you selected so that it doesn't move? I like my task bar positioned at the top of the screen instead of the bottom (default).


Or is the lock to keep the selection that you make (whether it's on or off)?


This has been bugging me for a long time and I finally decided to ask the Community about it.


Any theories or information about this?

Windows 10 Taskbar sometimes on top of full-screen applications

I suggest you to change the Screen Resolution and check if this helps. Follow the steps below to do the same:

• Press ‘Windows ’ key on the keyboard.
• In the search box, type Settings
  
• SelectSystem > Display > Advanced display settings.
• Under Resolution, select a new value. We suggest you stick with the resolution marked
  "(Recommended)”.

Also try locking and then unlocking the Taskbar and check if this helps. Follow the steps below:

• Right-click an empty space on the taskbar.
• If Lock the Taskbar has a check mark next to it, the taskbar is locked.
  
• If it does not have a check mark, click Lock the Taskbar.

My Taskbar suddenly stretched out

I realize that the Taskbar is stretched or extended in Windows. We will help you.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• Right click on the Taskbar and check if the Lock the Taskbar
  is checked.
• If it is checked, uncheck it and drag the taskbar down
  and check the taskbar to lock the taskbar again.
• Check if the issue is resolved.

How do you remove the taskbar from bottom of the screen.
