    What does the ultimate performance power plan actually do?


    In win10 you can enbale a so called "ultimate performance power plan" using terminal, it says it uses all available resources, Im looking for an explaination of what it actually does in detail if someone has found it, and how it is different from the default "high performance" one.

    How to enable Ultimate Performance Power Plan in Windows 10?

    The "Ultimate Performance" power plan exists since Windows 10 Version 1803.
    To activate the Power Plan, the following steps must be taken:

    1. Open cmd.exe as Administrator
    2. Duplicate the scheme with: powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61
    3. Copy the guid from ultimate plan
    4. Set the ultimate plan active with: powercfg /setactive <GUID>

    What Ultimate is suppose to do, that's different from High Performance is cut out/reduce micro latencies .
    So another possibility is it forces Windows to use the HPET timer over system timer, if present in BIOS.
