What folders to put on RAMDisk?

Hi. I've recently upgraded to 32GB RAM, created 20GB RAMDisk with ASUS ROG RAMDisk software and I'm in need of help to verify & decide which folders should be added to this for overall better performance.

For now, I've synchronized whole installation folder of my Photoshop on C:\Program Files (about 3.5GB data) and I've seen significant better performance right off. I've even added TEMP folders - C:\Windows\Temp + %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp and Chrome folder, but I'm unsure if I should synchronize whole Chrome User Data folder as I did or maybe anything else should be synchronized, to keep the amount of data down as much as possible? The folder which has been synchronized is %USERPROFILE%AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data.

Could anyone verify if everything I did has been correct done? I'd even like to synchronize CS GO and GTA V but I don't really know which folders should be synchronized for these games? I can't do it like for Photoshop adding whole installation (game) folder as it's only 20GB RAMDisk and for example CS GO is 18.5GB on my SSD so it wouldn't really work. Thanks in advance.

    :)

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

    • I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

    • Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.
That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

  3. [SOLVED] Temporary Internet Files (location) corrupted since creating 'RAMdisk'

    Hi!

I'm having this issue for some time now and I don't know how to fix it. It's "Temporary Internet Files" within the Internet (Explorer) Settings, that also affected the Edge.

I created RAMdisk to try storing Internet files on it to speed up my browsing. That worked great!

I just moved the Temporary folder location to the RAMdisk.

The problem is, I can't restore Temporary folders to it's original location.

So basically Internet Explorer and Edge do not have any history and do not save anything if RAMdisk is not running.

I tried moving back the saving location with or without RAMdisk but it keeps reverting the save location to 'blank' if RAMdisk is not running and reverting location to RAMdisk if RAMdisk is running.

RAMdisk is a tool that creates HDD out of RAM, making that HDD faster than SSD or anyting else.
