Windows 10: What happened to my progress in fh4?

I had played some of forza horizon 4 a few days agosome 20 hours. Then I formatted the system drive and for some reason, when trying to launch the game, store failed to recognize that I already had all the up-to-date files on the other drive. Fine, then I deleted the old folder because it refused to download the game to this D: driveI thought doing this might prompt it to see that the game was present already. Then I am forced to download the entire thing fresh. Now I launched the game and it tried to "sync data" from cloud. It was stuck at zero percent for a while so I cancelled it thinking I would do it later on a better connection.

Now I closed the game, changed to a stable connection and booted up the game BUT IT DOES NOT SYNC A THING ANYMORE. I am taken through the intro race like it was the first time !! What the hell?

No amount of restarts brings back the sync window now. How on earth do I get back my progress?

There are a lot of problems being reported while installing FH4. The size can go as far as to 100 GB so I suggest you to wait for it to download. As you have metered connection i would like to inform you that it can go over quota.

There is a possibility that the zip file is corrupted. We suggest that you try obtaining another copy or try using a different program to open it, and check if the issue still persists.

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.
