  1. What has happened to my USB slots

I have some USB slots at the rear of my desktop PC and some at the front. I keep a 128GB USB chip permanently in one of the rear slots and use another rear slot to connect an external drive (for backup). I have used an adapter to connect an SD card to one of the front slots.

I now keep getting a message saying "USB device not recognized. The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. Windows Explorer" and none of the USB slots are working. I believe the drivers are up to date. I've used the chip, external drive and SD card on another (laptop) PC where they have all worked as expected.

How can I get my USB slots to work again? (The desktop is now using Windows 10 version 1809)

    :)

    DIMM slot 1, 3 or DIMM slot 2, 4?

    Page 1-23 in the manual;

    1. (2) Supports two (2) modules inserted into either the red slots or the black slots as onepair of Dual-channel memory con guration. We suggest that you install the modulesinto slots A2 and B2 for better compatibility.

    Hi Kathy,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

I certainly understand the difficulty you are facing with this game error. We will certainly help you with this issue.

    • Have you installed all the pending updates on the computer?
    • Are you facing any performance issues with other apps apart from Infinity Slots?

Let us try these steps to check if that makes any difference.

Step 1: Suggest you to run the apps troubleshooter on the PC to
fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store
    .

Step: 2: Further, you may also put the PC in a
    clean boot
state to check if that helps. A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program.

Note: Your computer may temporarily lose some functionality while in a clean boot environment, however, that functionality will return when you reset the computer to start normally after you have finished your troubleshooting.

I would also suggest you to check with the game developer
Infinity Slots - Spin and Win! Website
    .

Note: Since the websites are not hosted by Microsoft, the links may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information.

    Hope this helps.

Let us know if you got the help you needed.

What has happened to my USB slots

USB sockets sleeping while in use in Windows 10!

    • What is the specific model of your laptop? 1st computer Inspiron 5521, 2nd computer Studio 1555
    • Have you installed all the pending updates on your computer? Yes, except I backed out the last one because it made the problem worse.
    • Which build is running on your computer? 10586
    • When you say ‘sleep problems with the USBs’ is the computer going to sleep mode when USB is connected or USB device is turned off after few minutes? Just the slots go to sleep which freezes the pgms using the slot until I click on the "safe to remove icon"
      which activates the usbs.
    • Have you done any recent software/hardware changes to your computer? No
    • Is the issue specific to one USB slot or all the slots on your laptop? All.
    • What troubleshooting steps have you taken to resolve the issue? I have tried everything the Community and Google has suggested except the registry fix. As I said, I have never had a USB problem until Windows 10 and both computers have the same problem.
