I want to see improved error messages.

    Replace these totally useless messages:1
"Something is using your USB device"
If Windows "thinks" that something is using a USB device it should name the process and/or supply the PID.
An alternative could be to add a "kill" button.

    2
    "Backup your encryption key"
If Windows "thinks" that something has been encrypted it should name the file(s).
I'm sure people can think of other pointless messages.

The error message dialogue boxes should be changed so that you can copy the message directly from the box.
Another option could be to add a "Copy to clipboard" or "Copy to text file" button.
Maybe they could also include a "Go to Event Viewer" button.

    1) The Notification Center needs to be improved.

    2) I would love to have File Explorer opening "My Computer" instead of "Fast Access".
    At least there's an easy workaround. Unpin the default shortcut from taskbar and create a new one pointing to: %windir%\explorer.exe ::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

    3) Charms Bar back.

    Easy peasy:
(I'm not gonna look for the tutorial! SORRY SHAWN!) *chuckle

And yes, the notification center DOES need improvement.
    Charms Bar?... Meh!

Well MS need to do as much as they can to get people off Win7 and start trying out this Win10 when released.

    hi Wynona,

well every one may dislike the Charms Bar, i only ask for an option to have it or not. I will use it and if MS does not offer this maybe Stardock will? And then i buy it.

As for the fact that MS should listen to us, yes they should....why are we allowed to use the previews, the beta's, the different releases if they do not listen.

Let us not forget that even Microsoft (like Apple) are just doing this for the MONEY.

While I agree that it would be nice to have MS listen to what we want but in this case they have decided that the charms bar is out from Win10. And I doubt all the complaining/asking will bring it back.

You wont need to buy from Stardock. PopCharms will certainly be updated to work with newer builds and probably with RTM. It worked fine in build 9841 and 9860, but doesn't work, by now, in 9926.

I saw somewhere yesterday that Stardock is creating a start menu for Windows 10. I don't use third party start menus, but I'm all for them if they help someone. Hmmm, wonder if we could get in on the beta? I'd be willing to test. *Smile

I bet less than 5% of windows users want the charms bar back.

  11. Since 8 and 8.1 popularity is only 12% I'd agree.
Charms in general were more of an annoying premature pop out that actually blocked more than it helped me.

  12. Might as well let Microsoft get real time feedback on installs and usage of it.

Actually, through my unscientific observations, it seems to be running about 50/50 on these forums.

In another private forum that includes betas, a poll shows it's running a bit more than 50% wanting the charms bar back. The rest of those answering the poll are split with only about 38% saying they don't want it back.

    Edit:

Latest check sees 44% want it; 44% don't want it and 11% could care less.

The only thing I didn't like about the charms bar was that it kept popping up when I didn't want it.

Yeah, I could have lived with it if it didn't keep doing that . . . and making me fish when I wanted it.
