My issue is when I would let my pointer roam to close to the right edge the charms bar would pop up. That's what I didn't like about it. I have no issue with it being there I just would like to have an option to turn it off.

    G'morning, Jeff.

Same here on all points. Grab for the scroll bar and whammo! here comes the charms bar!

I have the same problem when I'm in Win 8.1.1 as Jeff and Wynona. If we could turn off the lower right corner I would be OK with the charms bar.

    Charms Bar vs Notification Bar.

I don't like the Notification Menu a whole lot better than the Charms Bar simply because it also pops up at inopportune moments. However, having said that, I'd like to see if the Notification Menu would be a viable alternative for the Charms Bar.

Because I'm somewhat slow on the uptake with new features, I'll show a snippet of where it is. I tried to get a snippet of it when opened, but didn't succeed. Gotta learn the next step to that too. Anyway, the little text box at the far right is the Notification Menu.

Open it up and you will see Tablet Mode, Display, Connect and All Settings. You can expand it and see four more things.

Back to the Notification Menu vs Charms Bar:

What is missing from the NM that you used in the CB? Is the NM a viable alternative to CB? Can the NM be altered to your preferences? And anything else you'd like to add.

@ Wynona. When I want to capture a popup that disappears if I try to capture it, I'll hit the print screen button. Then I'll edit in in paint if needed.

Wynona for using windows snipping tool see here. I found this when I wanted to capture the taskbars' "Desktop Toolbar" open.

Better analysis and explanations for BSODs would be nice. Puzzling "maybe this or that" is very difficult to troubleshoot.

Thanks, Cliff. I wasn't aware of that. I did manage to get a screenie by using the Windows key and PrtScr together.

Count, I haven't had any BSOD's in ages. Not even in Windows 7 that I remember.

Print Screen works great for popups that go away when you try to capture them.

I had some in 8.1 and bunch more in W7 but in W10 NONE and it's on the same computer. Have an older TV card whose driver was making those BSODs, now same things, same driver (W7 driver) and works with no problems, go figure. But... I do work with other people's computers and find BSODs all over the place. so, nice explanation of what exactly was at fault would save me hours of work.

I don't recall the last time I had a BSOD and I work in development where I constantly have pre-Alpha level code installed on my machine.

I think I had one many years ago and I only had one or two at most. Win10 has caused me zero major issues so far.
