    What if I delete the folder "windows.old" after windows update?


    I had only a windows folder in C drive but as i updated my previous version of Windows to 1803 now I have got two windows folder:
    "Windows"(carrying around 18GB space) and "Windows.old"(carrying around 8GB of space). Should i delete the folder "windows.old" as it is consuming 8GB of my total storage(150GB)? Doing so, do it cause any problem to regular performance of my OS?

    He can do symbolic link redirection and move the files in it to a different location. *Wink What if I delete the folder "windows.old" after windows update? ;)
    Better try it out in a virtual of first. Just a suggestion.

    Like:
    First move everything in c:\windows\installer to d:\installercache
    Then delete c:\windows\installer folder
    Then type this in command mode as admin
    mklink /d c:\windows\installer d:\installercache

    Removing those installer files is a bad idea. it might prevent you from updating or uninstalling apps.

    Just run "cleanmgr.exe" in the run command or in a command prompt and select the drive you want to clean......
