Windows 10: What is DismHost.exe in Temp Folder?

hi, i frequently check Temp folder for unwanted junk and other apps, i have found a folder in C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Temp , which has an app named "DismHost.exe" and other DLLs , i tried to check what app is that, i tried to open it but it gives me error, is it a important windows app , or virus or potentially unwanted app?

I keep seeing that a random folder appearing in my Temp folder, folder name is very random with words and mixed numbers. Inside, there is a certain exe named "Dismhost" this pops up almost like every two days or so. Is this normal? I already scanned my computer
with Malwarebytes with hidden files enabled, found nothing. I always delete that random folder but it keep coming back.

Win10 64 professional 1803

Dismhost exe have "Microsoft Windows" sha1 and sha256 digital signature that signed in april 2018

Any way to stop this from happening?

Hey thanks for reply Dave, I'm using Norton Internet Security as my main security program so windows defender is passive because Win10 does not let me use both in same time. so I cannot use a manual scan feature in Win defender, but, I noticed there is a
"periodic scan" option (almost missed it because text so damn small haha) "You can continue to use your primary AV and have windows defender scan your system time to time"
perhaps enabling this slider to solve this issue?

UPDATE: well guess what happened, Norton instantly gave me an red pop up warning saying "Norton and windows defender cannot work at same time" so I can't even enable periodic scan, so be it then, I have no annoyances or problems having that folder in Temp
folder, I can always delete it anyway so its ok,

I think removing/deleting any file or folder in Temp folder is completely safe any way right? Its called Temp for a reason, besides, if I try to remove a important file windows warns me anyways "this folder is in use" so thats alright

The temp folder provides work space for programs. Yes they can be deleted. We suggest that you follow the steps provided by Sangeeta Sarkar on how to delete Temp files on this

link. You may also type in the search box Disk Cleanup and hit enter. It will evaluate your disk and give you a list of folders sizes that can be deleted.
