Windows 10: What is MicrosoftEdgeUpdateTaskMachineCore?

Every time I log in, a command prompt pops up then disappears. I checked task scheduler and saw that this was maybe the cause of it. I am wondering if this is malicious or something built into the system. How do I remove the pop up?

I did some digging, and it looks like there are several entries in Task Scheduler (taskschd.msc) that pertain to MS Edge:

• MicrosoftEdgeReportingTaskMachine
  
• MicrosoftEdgeUpdateTaskMachineCore
  
• MicrosoftEdgeUpdateTaskMachineUA
  

It seems that "MicrosoftEdgeReportingTaskMachine", would be the culprit here. I disabled the MicrosoftEdgeReportingTaskMachine scheduled task, and that annoying behavior seems to have gone away (Right-click the name of the task to disable it).

Optionally, you can take the opportunity to disable all of the tasks that start with MSEdge* if you like (as long as you do not use the Edge browser).

Names are like: MicrosoftEdgeUpdateTaskMachineCore

They start with MicrosftEdge

I didn't even try to find them on the left side as they are all listed in the middle in alphabetical order.

 

How to update Edge manually? (with blocked Windows update)

Hmm disabling Edge in Task Scheduler didn't work! I have only 2 entries in Task Scheduler Library of these 4:

And disabling programs by renaming their files isn't ideal! It can produce Event Viewer errors, or maybe it could corrupt system, or cause some problems dunno... Also I Am not sure about denying all access permissions of programs.
