    What is the cause of DLG_FLAGS_INVALID_CA?


    Windows 10 running in a Virtual Box. I just deleted the disk image and reinstalled the entire OS in the VM yet still get this error immediately.Any HTTPS site I visit - in the VM - Edge displays "DLG_FLAGS_INVALID_CA". Is there any way to get Edge to display useful information on the cause of the error? I am typically able to collect more info from Chrome but Edge is not allowing me to download it probably cause of the HTTPS error it keeps throwing.Fundamentally, the question is what actually causes "DLG_FLAGS_INVALID_CA" or is it a useless catch-all error and what can be done to fix this? It

    DLG_FLAGS_INVALID_CA error code

    Hi Cameron,

    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

    1. May I know which browser you are using to access the website?
    2. Have you tried accessing the website from the different browser?
    3. Have you recently made any changes on the computer?
    4. Have you tried reinstalling the certificates?

    Sometimes this certificate error is caused due to below mentioned reasons.

    1. When the website is not installed correctly.
    2. When the website certificate is expired, or the administrator does not renew it.
    3. The chances are that website you’re visiting is compromised or the site has a malicious redirection.
    However, you may try the below suggested steps.

    Method 1

    Try to visit the same website on a different browser and check if this fixed the issue.

    Method 2

    Check the date and time settings.

    To set your time and time zone in Windows 10, go to
    Start > Settings > Time & Language.

    Method 3

    Adjust the security level by following these steps.

    1. In the search bar, type in
      Internet Options
      .
    2. Go to Security tab, on Internet Properties Window.
    3. In the Security Levels for this zone, change the security to
      Medium-low.
    4. Click on Apply and
      OK to save the changes.
    5. Then try to check the status of the issue.

    Method 4

    Clear Browser Cache (Microsoft Edge)

    1. Click on Ellipses
      (…) > Navigate to Settings > Choose what to clear under clear browsing data.
    2. Ensure Cached Data and files option is selected and click on
      Clear Button.
    3. Relaunch the browser to check the status of the issue.

    Clear Browser cache (Internet explorer)

    1. Click on Tools (Gear icon in Upper right corner).
    2. Click on Internet Options
      > Delete.
    3. Ensure Cookies and Website data is check marked and click on
      Delete and relaunch the browser to check the status of the issue.

    Clear browser cache (Google Chrome)

    1. Click on Chrome menu towards the right end, beside the address bar.
    2. Navigate to Tools >
      Clear browsing data.
    3. A pop up will appear on your screen. Here you can select
      Empty the cache.
    4. Select browsing data and follow the onscreen prompts.
