what software can I use to switch the display, when connecting USB...

I found some HDMI input boxes to usb marketing ads, as I'm trying to get the HP Netbook Laptop's usb's to transfer video signal to the screen from an Xbox one, with no real money to buy a TV, I did try to connect the two via a network, but, unfortunately homegroup network does not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

    :)

  2. Recover key from image?

I downloaded a copy of Windows 10 Home. Bad thing is, there's no product key nor did I receive one from Microsoft upon download. How can I recover the key from an image that I have not installed?

    N95 Software upgrade problem

I was doing a software update for my N95 connected to a PC through USB. The download was complete & when it was installing the software, the phone got switched off. Since the instruction in the beginning said that the phone will restart during the installation,
I did not bother. But after sometime the software up grader gave a message that my phone is not responding. When I tried to switch on the phone manually its not responding. Then I disconnected the USB, removed the battery & tried starting again. But the power
gets on without any display. Can you please guide me on this ?

Having a hard time understanding exactly what you want to do? The XBOX One Windows 10 App will stream your XBOX to your PC over your network. If will turn the XBOX on too if you set the XBOX for quick power up mode, and not the full shutdown. You can access all the XBOX Apps and games just as if you were sitting in front of it. You'll need to plug the XBOX game controller into your PC though to play games.

Sorry for the rushed Question, I had been arguing with some colleagues on alternative methods of streaming video from an Xbox one (A Microsoft product mind you,) offline to a HP windows 10 Laptop, via whatever means that didn't need constant online verification, as well as doing simple conversion of Monitor to basic "TV Screen," an argument that took way longer to prove and research than it should have, and what lead to this poorly written question. We did manage to stream the two via a hotspot, but having the communication on an online basis in an area primarily that is spotty kind of voided the ideal we were simply trying to accomplish. So we're stuck in the following issue of locating a screen stuck with the following conditions:
    • The client wants HDMI output A to fit into a laptop's HDMI output B and magically display what's shown from HDMI output A
    • A quick Google search has found a sort of "Streaming Alternative," but is heavily dependent on both internet connection, and a "home network," both of which we cannot provide for our client currently.
    • Seeking for an alternative video input, We have the connections of this HP Notebook:
      • VGA
      • HDMI output
      • USB
    • A quick search for a "HDMI input Female, to USB male," has technically been located physically listed, but in order to make this work, one would need some software of some sort to convert the screen into a basic television no?
    • The client in question can best be described as someone who is a cheapskate, as in, the client both has little income to bother ordering a television, and for the most part is unwilling to spend more over the $20 mark, (frustrating I know.)
    • I did do a search on how one can recycle an old laptop's screen, but I am not getting paid to assemble one from scrap, and from the sounds of my client, I can assume he's unwilling as well.

So yeah, You can see my frustration in my poorly worded general board subject, but my mind was way too burnt out from arguing with other clients on providing a simple solution, (to which I both blame Microsoft, and my client greatly.) I'm sorry it is one of those situations that should sound like an easy one off, buy the right dongle and done, but apparently it is not in this case clearly.

--Personally I would have recommended to simply trade in the console and get a decent laptop, because, (and I know from experience and eye witnessing this myself,) that people who waste their money on consoles these days are the literal definition of people with disposable income. As I cannot tell you the amount of times clients have come into us with broken controllers or checking issues with their system's random shorting out and so on. But that's just me, and my own headache induced thoughts.

I'd also like to apologize greatly for this sort of "skimmed" behavior, I did not mean to address my frustrations and lack of thinking out, into a forum, I am greatly sorry for the sort of rash behavior brought into this forum, I do not mean to represent poorly for this forum's reputation.

  7. I wish you good luck on your endeavor, your going to need it. I think you'll find that most of what's out there, is USB to HDMI (out). Not HDMI (in) to USB. Basically a USB video card. That won't work for what you want to do. And if you do find one that takes an HDMI signal in, and sends it to USB, your going to need software for it to work. If you actually find the device your looking for, it should come with the software needed to make it work.
