Windows 10: What You’ll Lose When You Upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10

Is it being seen in Disk Management? I don't mean File Explorer. When you say SATA HDD do you mean an external HDD or a 2nd internal?

 

It's a second internal and does show up in Disk Management... I've also edited my query...

 

One more question, please bear with me, even if I don't know the answer someone else might. She used the upgrade option using setup.exe from the Win7 desktop. Was Win/ BIOS or EFI partitioned before? and did it maybe get change during/by the upgrade. I ask because then Windows will not be able to see the 2nd disk if it has a different partitioning as the OS. Not all is lost if this is the case though, just time consuming.

 

Edit last post: I'm talking about MBR to GPT partitioning sorry.

Thanks - she used the Upgrade option from the Windows 10 Insider website. Her main Windows 7 HDD or Bios etc wasn't partitioned.

It appears it's an issue with Permissions - despite trying the registry fix, to add the Take Ownership into the Context Menu, and then selecting the Privacy settings for that drive, this still hasn't worked.
We're going to use a USB - SATA adapter, and access her files that way.

 

Back to thread title:

Two things I will miss(from my current Windows 8.1 machine) are the Charms bar(I have always liked this) and while helping someone in 8 forums it came to me, the Big Clock as he called it, when the charms bar opens. I like that clock.....

 

How long will it be before a 3rd party company produces 'Classic Charms Bar' for those who were fans of it in Windows 8?! *Wink
