Windows 10: Whats causing my battery max capacity to go down so much?

As far as I know it isn't possible for the battery to leak as much as it did in such a short time.

My current theory is that one of the 4 cells on the battery are malfunctioning since they max capacity went down by around 25% however from google searches I hear that if a battery leaks there should be some kind of fluid coming out, as I remember there wasn't any fluid of the sort, any ideas?

What if the battery unremoveable? Should I disassemble and remove it? also there is a switch underneath the case and around the RAM slot that prevent the laptop to turn on when the case is open and without the charger. Is that the same as removing the battery? although when turned on with charger, the laptop still see the battery. Thanks

I took the report, the design capacity was 41.440 mWh but full charge capacity is now 25.752 mWh. Is it that bad? Before this happened I believe HWMonitor also show the same number with 38% Wear Level.

Repeat the steps Dave suggest you other three times.

Also you can uninstall and reinstall battery from device manager before each charge. You can do that:

1. Press WINDOWS + X

2. Click on "Device Manager"

3. Click on "Battery"

4. Right click on your battery

5. Click on "Uninstall device"

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each element on battery list

7. Click on "Detects Hardware change" (monitor icon)
