  1. What's the trimming phase in Defragment and Optimise Drives?

After defragmenting and consolidating (FYI, it's the phase that packs all the files together so it keeps the files from fragmenting), I managed to find a phase called trimming.

I left my laptop to sleep while it was defragging (never really a good idea, I suppose). It loves hibernating after a while (inconvenient, you get a bonus point if you can help me figure that out). So, it hibernated while in the middle of defragging.

    By accident. Not my fault.

I woke it up to find the stage, but it went by within a few seconds.

    WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?!

(Don't forget your bonus point for helping me find out why my laptop hibernates after a while. It could be to do with the hard drive shutting down, as seen in the Power options in Control Panel)

    :)

  2. Defragment and Optimise drives

I started up the Defragment and Optimise drives utility yesterday and I noticed that both my D: drive and Z: drive were not present there. Both these drives happen to be partitions on the same disk. All other drives (including removable drives) were visible.
I tried running chkdsk with /r parameter and it returned no errors/bad sectors. How should I solve this issue?

What's the trimming phase in Defragment and Optimise Drives?

    defrag (optimise) not working

Its set to weekly (default) - and as far as I understand, ssd should be defragmentet (trimed) every 4 weeks, regardless of that setting (one week). Can someone at Microsoft add that information about ssd drives in Optimise? Btw is that information correct?

Its day 33, and still nothing. I know I can do it manually, and I guess ssd actually trim itself regulary. I have another very similar computer and trim in Windows Optimise is working there. It optimised ssd after 28 days.

Any idea why it is not working?

I had Windows 8.1 before upgrade to 10 and it was working normally. I can't remember was that last optimise on 10/8 triggered automatically or manually by me. I already had Windows 10 at that time. I think I triggered it manually. It says 4% on hdd after
I have run Analyse. So, now its 2 discs it should optimise, hdd after a week and ssd after 28 days.
