Windows 10: When has M a good working fix for realtec audio drivers?

On a Lenovo thinkcentre m720s there was no sound anymore after updating from 23h2 to 24h2. Why we have to waite so long for an update???It's scandalous that M is going to force the update after 5 weeks, the world assumes that there will be a working audio fix by then!Greetings from Linus T.

How to reinstall Realtec HD Audio card?

Windows 10 problem:

Not sure why it has disabled my Realtec HD Audio Manager in January - but I still had generic system sounds.

Have downloaded and installed the new driver v 6.0.1.8198 Feb 2018.

In about 2 weeks all my Windows sounds disappeared - NO YouTube Video sound, No Music files sound, No sound in PPS, and no System sounds.

I was not able to find a cause - all hardware worked fine, Realtec HD Audio Manager displayed correctly, has perfect sound on rear output speakers and front earphones - Right and Left perfectly. Same for SKYPE - good sound.

And yes, my computer was turned on and all sound volumes were 100% with all Audio Player progress bars advancing - silently.

It was recommended as a fix that I uninstall the Realtec audio driver from Device manager .

Here comes the BIG Windows problem:

After rebooting the computer - yes I do have sound that Microsoft highjacked to generic onboard Audio chips.

The Realtec HD Audio device is no longer listed in Device manager, and can not be re-discovered by hardware search even though is still plugged in as always in the MOBO.

I see that there is a major and wide spread confusion between Drivers and Devices.

I have no access to my Realtec HD Audio device(hardware card) to reinstall the Driver that was working all peachy until deleted.

Any search on the web becomes useless as it always directs to Device manager and Realtec HD Audio that is supposed to be in there to update/reinstall the Driver (software).

Again - is there anyone who can help me to reinstall the not-missing missing hardware?

Realtec Audio/Sound Issues

Anyone having issues with the latest Realtec audio driver? Just got a laptop - Windows 10-64 bit came installed. Trying everything, but still has a crackly and underwater sound on iTunes and youtube vids.... Tried to uninstall/reinstall, and rollback...
but the reinstall had no change. The rollback won't go back to a previous driver, it just shutsdown Realtec and goes to the default HD audio device. With that, my vids sound fine now...but iTunes won't play. Just wondering if a bug with the latest driver
or something else I can try. Also - I checked sound with headphone in case it was the laptop's speakers....same issue.

 

Audio Not Working after numerous fixes...

Hi there J, I will be your Independent Advisor for today, I hope we can both resolve your problem.

What I can suggest is DELETE completely all the Audio drivers listed in the device manager.

There should be a small box that you can tick to delete completely the Audio driver.

And make sure you remove all audio devices listed.

Here is how to do it

Here the steps to completely remove a Device off your computer.

Step 1. Use shortcut keys Win + X on Windows 10.

Step 2. Select Device Manager.

Step 3. Expand the entry. Right-click the problematic device and select Uninstall device.

Step 4. You may need to check the option Delete the driver software for this device, and then click the Uninstall button.

Step 5. Reboot the computer.
