Windows 10: When I index the new internal C: SSD drive, how do I prevent the older internal F: hard...

The Delete and Rebuild selection in the Advanced Options for indexing did not work. I keep getting the C: and F: drive indexed.

how to optimally install windows and applications on a SSD drive and save all files to an internal hard drive

I didn't understand how to follow the above comments.

The SSD drive will have the windows 10 professional, drivers, browsers, applications, etc.

The internal hard drive or storage drive will have all files such as pictures, videos, PDF, XLS, music, etc.

It's unclear to me whether to keep is as a 1 TB drive or partition it for each category. I don't yet know the pro and con of each of these methods.

Using file explore and clicking on C drive there are 3 users. The one that I created, default.migrated and public.

The 1 TB internal hard drive is currently not visible in file explorer.

In disk management it is still an unallocated drive.

File explorer currently has labeled drives C, D, and F

C local disk 203 GB free of 237 GB

D System Reserved 465 MB free of 499 MB

F BD-RE drive (optical drive)

When using disk management I remember right click and new simple volume. And then just pick any drive letter?

For "Create a User folder on your data drive" is that a right click on the desk top and create folder with any specific name? Should that folder when complete remain on the desktop or should that folder be located somewhere else?

If the drive letter of the internal hard is labeled R then right click on the 12 items listed under the user name used to start windows and then change the drive letter from C to R?

For the advanced options in indexing options I saw the select new under index location.

When it was clicked it opened a new windows with browse for folder. Which folder is that the one that was created on the desktop earlier? At this time the browse for folder only displays C and D drives. Once the unallocated drive is labeled with R then
the empty drive with the exception of the folder on the desktop should appear? And that is the one chosen? And then that folder is moved from the desktop to where?

Do you currently have windows, office, firefox, chrome, adobe, and all other software on your SSD and only files on your internal hard drive? If so how do you manage your bookmarks for your browsers? How do you manage your iTunes?

I once had iTunes on a computer internal hard drive and moved all music onto an external hard drive. I remember struggling to figure out how to do it with the libraries. Currently I have iTunes songs on an external hard drive. The proprietary usb connector
on the Seagate external drive is no longer working. So I am considering options for salvaging the music. If you use iTunes how did you set it up so that you can have the iTunes software on your SSD and your songs on the internal hard drive and have it not
create the library or read the library on the ssd drive?

Have you had to reinstall windows on the SSD drive? If so how did you recreate the links? The same way as we are doing now?

 

New computer without internal hard drive

Just bought a computer without an internal disk hard drive. It has the 256 SSD drive instead. I want to use an external hard drive to install any new programs so as not to take up space on the SSD drive.. How should I set it up the external hard drive
and install new programs on it. At this time I do not want to use Onedrive and cloud. Thank you now for any advice someone might offer...

 

Installing new internal hard drive

I have connected an additional 4th internal hard drive. I an using Windows 10. The drive is not being recognized, probably because it is not initialized, etc. yet. My question is what are the steps in windows 10 to accomplish this?
