Windows 10: when to close the lid of laptop after shutdown

hello


when i shutdown my laptop it the screen become dark after 6 secs (approx) but the two led lights at the right corner of keyboard still blinks for 15 secs(approx) so shall i wait for the ligjt to stop blinking or shall i just close the lid pannel after screens goes dark

How to force shutdown on laptop lid close ?

I want to force a shutdown when the user close the laptop lid even if MSWord is open and the document was not saved.
Any suggestion ?

Laptop does not shutdown when i click shutdown and close the lid, it sleeps instead.

This scenario happens when your Power Options is misconfigured. For us to have this isolated, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Click on Start.
• Select Settings.
• Click on System.
• Select Power & sleep tab.
• On the right side, click on Additional power settings.
• On the left pane, select Choose what closing the lid does.
• Under Power button and lid settings, click the drop down next to
  When I close the lid.
• Select Shut down.
• Click on Save changes button.
• When you’re ready to make your PC shut down, close your laptop's lid.
  

Note: Every time that you will close the lid, your laptop will automatically shut down.

I understand that when i change my configuration to shutdown when closing the laptop lid, it will definitely shutdown the laptop. However, i want to keep the setting of sleeping when closing the laptop lid. Is there anyway that the shutdown in the Windows
menu overpower the laptop attempts to sleep when i close the lid? It works fine a few weeks ago before a windows 10 update. However, ever since that update. I started to get this problem.
