Windows 10: Whenever I press ESC on my Bluetooth connected keyboard, it always brings up a new browser...

Hi,Whenever I press ESC on my Bluetooth connected keyboard, it always brings up a new browser window whatever is selected as the default browser. I have had this happen when using non-browser applications, eg. MS Office progs like Word or Excel, but also Calculator, and it happens even if I am just in system folders and press ESC.I have also just tested to see if I get different results in different browsers. When in Firefox or Edge, it simply resets the current window to a start page, it does not launch or bring up a new window of the same browser.Appreciate any ideas as to how to fix this.

Can pair new Microsoft Designer Bluetooth keyboard - but not connect

Hi

I just bought a new Microsoft Designer Bluetooth desktop keyboard to use with my Dell XPS 15 9530.

I'm running Windows 10 and I'm able to pair the keyboard by going to settings and adding and adding a new bluetooth device. It prompts me to type in the passkey on the keyboard and press enter.

After doing so, the device is added to the device list and after (very briefly) being listed as "Connected" it switches to be listed as "Paired".

In this state, the keyboard doesn't respond to any input - even after power cycling it. The keyboard even keeps blinking in the Esc-key as if it's still ready to pair.

I've reset the Bluetooth adapter, run the troubleshooter and made sure that all of my drivers are up to date. Nothing helps.

Any good suggestions?

 

is my new bluetooth keyboard ok

i bought a logitech k780 keyboard a few months ago. i paired it to my laptop which has windows 10 i keep the bluetooth keyboard and the tv remote control on my bed during the day. the tv remote control has been gently dropped on top of the bluetooth keyboard a couple of times during the past few months yesterday morning i pressed spacebar on the bluetooth keyboard to wake it from sleep and it pairs with my laptop. the windows start menu showed. that shouldn't happen. i pressed esc to close the start menu and i pressed the windows key on the bluetooth keyboard. the start menu showed yesterday at night i pressed the windows key on the laptop keyboard. nothing happened. i double clicked on a txt file which is on the desktop. it opened but it showed behind the edit power options screen which i already had open. i clicked on the document and the text in it got erased because backspace was being pressed on its own. i switched off the bluetooth keyboard and i tried to type on the laptop keyboard. it worked. also the windows key worked again and the windows start menu showed. i wasnt using the bluetooth keyboard when the issue happened why did these things happen? is it a bluetooth connectivity issue or the keyboard circuits under the bluetooth keyboard buttons are starting to spoil?

i am using a microsoft universal bluetooth keyboard https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Uni.../dp/B00GWGLUZ0 on my laptop which has windows 10 1809. i am also using the program classicshell to bring back the windows 7 start menu

in the past i used to have some weird glitches when i played games using my bluetooth keyboard (what just happened)

just now i had another weird glitch. i was watching a movie on my laptop using vlc player and i suddenly noticed that some of the keypresses on the bluetooth keyboard were not recognized like pressing space wouldnt pause the movie and pressing esc wouldnt exit from full screen. i was able to forward and rewind using the arrow keys. i went to my laptop and i tried to press space bar and esc on the keyboard of the laptop. also nothing happened. pressing cntrl alt delete did nothing. pressing alt tab worked and then i closed the movie from the taskbar. also when i pressed the windows key on the keyboard i got the windows 10 start menu instead of the windows 7 start menu. after that i did restart and everything went back to normal

why am i getting those weird glitches? can a bluetooth keyboard mess up windows? i dont know. i am thinking of retiring my keyboard and buying a new bluetooth keyboard which is logitech k480
