Where did this odd folder come from - it is blank and does not act like a folder

This odd folder showed up on my desktop recently. Searching has gotten me articles about about to create an invisible character ( alt-255 ). I did not knowingly create, or name this folder. And it doesn't have folder properties. I can delete it - but I'm more interested in where it came from, and what it is.

    Any insight?

edit: I cannot copy it anywhere - when I do it attempts to create a shortcut

Windows can't create a shortcut here.
Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead?

    [Yes] [No]

if I hit YES, I get:

Windows could not create the shortcut. Check to see if the disk is full.

    [OK]

    :)

  2. How to make a Uber Hidden Folder

    • Make a new folder.
    • Change the icon to a blank icon. No icon should appear
    • Rename the folder to a blank by pressing "alt + 255." (NOTE: Press 255 on the numpad) No text should appear.
    • Your done! It is uber hidden. *Big Grin Where did this odd folder come from - it is blank and does not act like a folder :D
