    Where does Windows Mail store archived emails?


    Hi!


    I tried to use Windows Mail to download and archive some old emails, so I logged in to my email through Windows Mail. I chose a bunch of emails and clicked "archive".


    To my mild horror the emails disappeared both from the server and from Windows mail. Then I found the archive folder on Windows Mail, chose all mails and moved them back to inbox. But I still cannot find the mails from our server. Furthermore, I cannot find the messages from Windows Mail either. I try some addresses on the search field but no.


    So I'd like to ask where does Windows Mail app store archived emails, if there would be any possibility to recover the messages.

    Archived mails are missing in Windows 10 Mail App.

    Hi John,

    I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue.

    Follow the Steps below and check.

    Step 1: Check the sync settings in Mail app.

    • Open Mail app and Hoover mouse point on top.
    • Next to Search icon you can seen Sync this View.
    • Click on the icon and let it Sync.
    • Close and reopen Mail app and check Archived mails.

    If issue persist follow next Step.

    Step 2: Run the Windows App Troubleshooter.

    I suggest you to download and run the app troubleshooter from the below link and check if it helps.

    Find an archived email in Windows 10 mail

    I archived an email in Windows 10 unintentionally and would like to put it back into the Catch-All-Subjects folder that I had set up in Windows 10 mail for emails that I wanted to keep I don't know how to find the archived file. when I click on
    Attach in New

    Mail Windows 10 Mail is not one of the folders that show up on the listing of files and when I click on This PC on the left side of the Attach drop down Windows 10 mail does not appear either. Please help.

    Archive an entire email folder in the Windows 10 mail app

    I'm not sure what a pop\imap account is, but my email is provided by yahoo and I use the Windows 10 mail app to reach my email. My issue is that I have many subfolders in my email and some of them are no longer active, but I have to go through the list
    anytime I want to reach an active folder. I would like to archive the non-active mail folders so that the list of active folders isn't quite as long.
