Where is there a log for a Startup failure

    1) For startup and recovery system failure > un-check automatically restart
    2) For virtual memory > un-check automatically manage paging file sizes for all drives > move dot from no paging file to system manged size > check automatically manage paging file sizes for all drives
    3) For Ccleaner > uncheck:
    a) Memory dumps
    b) Windows log files

    4) Reboot

    5) Open whocrashed > above analyze click on tools > crash dump test > type: ACCEPT
    6) Click analyze > post an image into the thread
    7) Run the best version of the log collector and post a zip into this thread:
    log collector v2-beta08.zip

    8) Share links are available at multiple sources. Files are transferred into the cloud and then share links are posted. As such files are uploaded only once to the cloud. Anytime you want to share files they are are available in the cloud. Some popular sites are: one drive, drop box, google, etc.
Share OneDrive files and folders - Office Support

    9) The dxdiag, msinfo32, and device manager are all indicating problems with the GPU
In dxdiag and msinfo32 they are missing and in device manager it is displaying default Microsoft display.
    10) right click on each row with a yellow triangle and black exclamation mark > left click uninstall device > on the device manger menu left click action > scan for hardware changes > post images into the thread

    11) If there are problems with these devices or if there are unknown devices > left click properties > click on the details tab > under property scroll to hardware Ids > post images into the thread

  3. Hi

Thanks for your help, in the end it was all for nothing.

This morning I started the PC and it went to the PC did not start screen, I tried all the options,
starting with startup repair, I did not do reset because I figured the PC/GPU was stuffed
and Medion demand a reset to factory before they will get involved so that is what I did,
I have all my stuff backed up twice so that is not an issue.

The GPU is now showing and Device Manager looks normal whether or not the PC will stat normally
in future remains to be seen.

If you have any idea on what caused the GPU to stop showing up I would appreciate it.

    Thanks again

    regards

    Daniel

  5. Hi

as luck, or bad luck, would have it my PC crashed this morning, and a message the PC had crashed and they were collecting data, then you can restart came up but stayed at 0% for about an hour. There was an additional line that said Stopcode: Video_DXGKernal_Fatal_Error, which I guess points to the GPU.

I turned my PC off then on again and it booted fine.

There are no yellow triangles or unknown devices.
I have posted an image of the Display Adapter and the log collector zip.

Who crashed did not find any dump files, I followed their advice and increased the Page File to match my RAM and have changed the dump to maximum size.

    Hope this makes sense

    thanks for your help.

    Regards

    Daniel

The settings need to be checked and modified to create dump files.
Post these current images into the thread.
    They will be modified.
Once they are modified post follow up images.

    Perform the following steps:
    1) In the left lower corner search type system > open system control panel > on the left pane click advanced system settings >
    a) on system properties, advanced tab, under performance click settings > on performance options click the advanced tab > under virtual memory click change > on the virtual memory window using the Microsoft snipping tool to create an image and post it into the thread.
    b) under startup and recovery click settings > post an image into the thread of the startup and recovery window.

Ccleaner did not appear in the logs.
If the software is installed please post images of the windows tab > system and advanced sections.
Please do not use PCpitstop during the troubleshooting process.
Please indicate if there is any other software that has been used to clean files.

Where is there a log for a Startup failure

    1) Create a bootable windows 10 iso:
    Download Windows 10
    2) Perform an in place upgrade repair with the windows 10 iso:
    3) Power on the computer
    4) Open file explorer > this PC
    5) Insert the flash drive into any USB port
    6) Identify the windows 10 iso within file explorer and click on it to launch setup or setup.exe
    7) Follow the text and images in this link:
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade Windows 10 Tutorials

Code: Event[3608]: Log Name: System Source: volmgr Date: 2018-02-24T04:45:16.161 Event ID: 161 Task: N/A Level: Error Opcode: N/A Keyword: Classic User: N/A User Name: N/A Computer: DESKTOP-K817MA5 Description: Dump file creation failed due to error during dump creation.[/quote]

After the in place upgrade repair:
    1) Run HD Tune:
Post images into the thread for the results on these tabs:
    a) Health (SMART)
    b) Benchmark
    c) Full error scan

    2) Run memtest86+ version 5.01 for at least 8 passes. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool
This may take hours so plan to run it overnight.
    a) Please make sure you use the Memtest86+ version 5.01 with the link below.
Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool
The testing is done not by time but by passes.
    The more passes the better.
There are a significant number of false negatives if fewer than 8 passes are made.
A false negative is a test pass when there is malfunctioning RAM.
There is 16 GB of RAM on the computer.
    Memtest86+ version 5.01 testing takes approximately 1 - 2 hours /GB RAM
Just 1 error is a fail and you can abort testing.
    b) When Memtest86+ has completed 8 or more passes use a camera or smart phone camera to take a picture and post an image into the thread.
