  2. How to sort photos in Windows essentials photo gallery.

    Hi John,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you want to sort your pictures in the way you want them. Kindly take note that the only options to sort your photos in Photo Gallery are the following:

    • Date taken
    • Date modified
    • File size
    • Image size
    • Rating
    • Caption
    • File name
Also I suggest follow the below steps.

Press ALT + W + K, one after other & check if the photos are shown in the order they were taken.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks & regards.

    Mohammed Ali.

    Hi Matt,

I realize that you are facing issues with the photos taken on your phone. I will try to help you with this issue.

Please answer these questions to get more clarity on this issue:

    • Have you installed all the pending updates on the phone?

    • What is the model number of the phone?

    • Are you saving the photos to an internal memory or external memory?
Suggest you to install all the pending updates on the phone and remember to restart the phone to check if that helps.

Keep us informed to help you further.

    Thank you.

    Where was this photo taken?

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done *Smile I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.
