    I am trying to install drivers for my printer on WIndows 10. Last time I installed it there were no problems, but now I get the following error:


    DIFxDriverPackageInstall Error = 1726


    I downloaded the installation file from:

    https://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadtop.aspx?c=us_ot&lang=en&prod=dcp7055_all

    DIFx error 1726 when trying to install Brother printer

    When trying to install Brother mfc-9130cw installation software, I get error "DIFxDriverPackageInstall Error = 1726." Level 5 tech support at Brother says it's a Windows issue. Please advise

    Outdated scanner driver is one of the possible reasons why you are unable to scan using your Brother DCP 1610W printer. For us to assist you better, kindly answer the following questions:

    • Have you made any changes to your computer prior to this issue?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
    • Which version and OS build number of Windows 10 is currently installed? To check, press the
      Windows key, type winver, and press the
      Enter       key.
    • Have you tried to download and install the latest driver for your printer from the manufacturer's website?
    • Do you receive any error messages?
    • What program are you using to scan files?
