Windows 10: Whiteboard App for Windows 10 now available to download from Microsoft Store

Microsoft has been working on a new Whiteboard App for Windows 10 users. The company had earlier launched the Whiteboard App in preview for testing in December with Windows 10 users. Today the company has pushed the Whiteboard App to all Windows 10 users after successful testing.

The Redmond Giant also confirmed that the company is working on the Whiteboard App for iOS and Android along with a web version of the application which is expected to work on all modern browsers. The web version of the app will allow users to connect with their Office 365 or school accounts and help them to work together on real time projects.

The Whiteboard App is now available to download from the Microsoft Store for Windows 10 and iOS users should soon be able to download the Whiteboard App on their devices. There has been no ETA given as to when the company plans to release the application for iOS and Android users.

The Whiteboard app helps users in improving collaboration since it offers a cloud based solution and also supports pens, mouse, keyboard and touch input. The Whiteboard app also supports intelligent ink to easily create tables and save projects to resume at a later time with cloud support.

The Whiteboard App which was released in preview last December is already having 2,00,000 customers using the application and providing feedback. The company based on the feedback has added more new features like text notes, ability to add and manipulate images and more.

For users to use the Whiteboard App they would need to have a Microsoft Account or a work and school Office 365 accounts to take advantage of the features of the App.

Microsoft is purging a lot of low quality apps from the Windows Store

"Microsoft is sending emails to some Windows Store developers informing them that their apps have been removed from the Store for violating its quality standards."

"Neowin reports that app developers have been receiving these emails over the past couple of days:

In its latest review of the Store, Microsoft is evaluating if the published apps are good enough to be listed in the Windows Store. This includes publicly available apps as well as private beta apps. Additionally, Microsoft is also asking developers to delete any promotional campaigns for their apps to prevent advertising charges. Similarly, app name reservations are also being nullified; which means that if your app is unpublished, there's no guarantee that you'll be able to republish it under the same name.

Officially, the policies for the Microsoft Store says that apps must have "distinct and informative metadata" and "provide a valuable and quality user experience". There are also some specific standards that must be in the apps, including having a name that is not similar to another app or device, along with offering a description that is accurate about its features and functions.

There have certainly been many Windows Store users who have complained over the years about the large number of apps published that are clones of other apps or ones that are simply poorly made. Hopefully, this new move by Microsoft will help to curb these issues, at least for now."
