Windows 10: why are most of my photos hidden from view

Discus and support why are most of my photos hidden from view in Cortana to solve the problem; I am unable to view only a few of my photos.     why are most of my photos hidden from view


    I am unable to view only a few of my photos. They seem to be h idden behing a lavender or grey curtain or fog. This only happened since Windows 10. Also they are not accessible by a relevant date- what's going on?

    Photos

    Hi,

    These photos may have been hidden. To find these photos, we advise you to show hidden files and folders on your PC. To do so, follow these steps:

    • On the Search bar, type Folder Options on press
      Enter.
    • Go to View and under Hidden files and folders, select Show hidden files, folders, and drivers.

    Let us know if you've found the photos.

    Can I view all photos in one view

    Hi Gary,

    We'd like to ask few questions to know more about your concern. Kindly answer the following:

    • Are you using the built-in Photos
      app to view your photos?
    • What steps have you tried so far?

    Just to confirm, did you follow the suggestion of Shawn 'Cmdr' Keene [MVP] on this thread? If so, were you able to see all your photos?

    We understand that you don't want to use the Photos app. However, that is another way to view all your photos. If you would like to try, please follow the steps below:

    • Open the Photos app.
    • Click on the ellipsis (See more).
    • Select Settings.
    • Under Sources, click on Add a folder.
    • Add the folder where the pictures are saved in.

    Note: Just add the main folder and all the photos saved in the subfolders should show up.
