Windows 10: Why can't I open Adobe Acrobat Reader DC?

I don't know if I have a virus. Until about two weeks ago I could open Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to read PDF files (and I pay a yearly fee to convert them to Word or Excel if I need to). Now I can't read any PDF files because I can't open Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.


Can somebody guide me please? Either Windows Defender is not letting this app open, or a virus is preventing it from opening. I have done two full scans of my computer looking for viruses or malware. Nothing was found. I am not very familiar with Windows Defender and I started using it recently. Is Windows Defender stopping this common app (Adobe Acrobat Reader DC) from being opened and used? If so, how can I tell Windows Defender to let Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to open up when I ask for it, and to let me use it when I need it??

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

Operating system is Windows 10 Pro, Every time I open Acrobat Reader DC I get the following message:

"Windows - Application Error, The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022) Click OK to Close the application"

I am unable to uninstall Acrobat reader DC as it does not show listed in the "Apps & Features"

how can I uninstall this program?

Yes a lot of users have reported issues with Reader DC and Windows 10, the solution is to uninstall Reader DC and install Reader X1 until Adobe come up with a fix,

Click HERE to download Reader X1 and install it.

You will probably need to turn off Acrobat Updates until Adobe sort out this issue - Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager and click on the Startup Tab. Select Adobe Updater and click Disable

 

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Not Letting Other PDF Viewers to Open PDF File


A friend of mine called me asking for help converting an important document from a PDF to a DOC. I go to a website to convert the PDF and when I open it it gives me this...

. I then go to open the PDF in Edge and Firefox (they are the only other PDF viewers I have other than Adobe) and they give me these messages...



. But when I open it in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, it shows the document normally. It only opens in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. I don't know what was done to the file before it was given to me and I have tried printing it to a PDF and opening it but it gives me the same error. Does anyone have any ideas?
