  1. Why create a Registry entry for an installer in in the users downloads folder?

Im just curious why a developer would create a a registry entry to an installer in the downloads folder. Its going to be invalid is soon as the user deletes it. Wouldn't it make more sense to move the installer to a folder that the user will never open. It like trying to make a bath tub out of paper mache.

    :)

  2. Create registry installation values?

Same issue exists with Blizzard games, there you just have to add the gamepath to the registry and you can patch again (no other registry entries needed)

  3. Windows 10 does not make registry entries for new user, new user cannot log on

I have two PCs with Windows 10. I created a new user on one PC, no issues. But on the other computer I can create a new user but this user cannot log in. When examining the registers (done lots og google search on this) there are no registry entries for
the newly created user. Are there any access rights or similar that I need to adjust? Other suggestion?

Why create a Registry entry for an installer in in the users downloads folder?

Vista Ultimate - 'User' Folder Location

    No tried that.

Can copy the entire folder to D; but Windows still points to C as the location. Can change personal folders location to a folder on D;, but this still leaves hidden files etc on C;. Thus meaning there are 2 Users folders. Have managed to change the Public folder location to D;, with some registry tweaks, but this doesnt seem to work for the entire folder.

    any more suggestions
