Windows 10: Why did equalizer disappear from my speakers properties?

There seems to be a limited one built in that may help.

• Right-click your speakers icon ( near the clock ) and click "Open Sound Settings".
• On the right under Related Settings, click "Sound Control Panel"
• Click to select the [Playback] tab.
• Right-Click your speakers and click Properties.
• Click the [Enhancements] tab.
• In the scroll down list on mine is 'Equalizer'. Tick that box.
• Underneath now there should be a list of various defaults ( 'Setting' ) to pick from, like Pop or Vocal.
• But to the right of that is a button with three ... ( like [...] ). Click that.
• On mine an equalizer appears that I can set as required.

Compatible bluetooth speakers to use graphic equalizer in Lumia 640

I can't use the graphic equalizer when connected to a Sony SRS-5X Bluetooth speaker. I get a message that I need to use a "compatible" audio accessory to use the equalizer? Is there a list of compatible speakers to use the graphic equalizer? Or do I need
to change any settings in the Lumina 640? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Outdated audio driver is one of the usual caused why the enhancements tab is not appearing on the speakers properties. There are also audio drivers that don't have an enhancement tab.

To isolate the root cause of the issue, we need additional information:

• Which audio driver are you using?
• Were you able to use the enhancement tab before?
• Did you make any changes prior to the issue?

As an initial troubleshooting, we suggest uninstalling the driver using the steps below:

• Open Device Manager.
• Right-click (or tap and hold) the name of the device, and select
  Uninstall.
• Restart your PC and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.
