Why did failed attempt to install KB4023057 wipe my update history?

For the last few weeks M$ has been ferociously trying to force KB4023057 on to my PC but it fails to install every time.

I know why it fails. It fails because of changes I have made to stop it from being installed and that is not the issue.

Today, I caught it (noticed a lot of heavy CPU activity not related to anything I'm doing on the PC) trying to install yet again (the history was at 10 failed attempts when I looked yesterday).

When I opened the update history today to see what the failed count was up to (because your using my resources, my electricity, my money, to try and do things to my pc I don't want done!) I saw that the update history has been wiped clean except for the one failed attempt from today.

WTF is M$ doing to my PC ? It's quite obvious now they are doing other things in the background without my knowledge In an attempt to force this upgrade on me, which as we all know is just a tool to force the next feature update on us.

1809 causes all kinds of problem and I don't want it. I can't believe they're still trying to force this crap on us. Confirmed bugs included, invalidated Administrator accounts, data loss issues, issues with audio playback and bluescreens, font display issues, problems with mapped network drives that did not connect properly on start, and lots, lots more.

  3. How to uninstall KB4023057

On Jan 4 I installed KB4023057. I now wish I hadn't and want to uninstall it. I see it listed in "View update history" but it is not listed under "Uninstall update". Some of the fixes installed on Jan 4 are listed, but not KB4023057. How do I uninstall it other that by restoring from an old backup?

    Update:
I see that KB4023057 is again awaiting download. Odd.
