Windows 10: Why did some Desktop Icons disappear after adding and logging in with a 2nd account?

I have added a second account to my Laptop and when I logged into my first local account, some of my shortcuts disappeared. I haven't deleted anything before or after adding the new account and there's nothing in the recycle bin either on neither accounts.

• Are you referring to the desktop icons?
• When did the icons disappear? Did you make any changes to the system Settings?

It's possible that your device is in Tablet mode. I suggest you to turn it off and check if the icons appear. To do so, select the
Action center icon on the taskbar (the little message box next to the date and time), and then select
Tablet mode to turn it on or off.

Windows 10 User's Desktop Icons disappeared

This is the 2nd time this has occurred. I get the request Microsoft credentials message box, which requires me to log out then log back in then presto desktop icons disappear. What is the solution?

 

Windows Update does it again: Disappearing Desktop Icons

Icons disappeared after the update, i know it was one of te 80+ updates

The link i found on msdn is to audit the events that accounts do and i will hunt down which process does it. But they say this issue happens on monday, YES today is thursday and I was only logged in yesterday in morning for a short time and not again until today.

Damn you microsoft.

EDIT: I've set up the auditing for deleting and when it happens again it will trace what did it, need to wait a week or so.
