Windows 10: Why did the update knock out my speakers?

    Why did the update knock out my speakers?


    I don't know why Microsoft employees can't roll out an update without messing up some part of my computer. I postpone updates for as long as I can because I know you guys will botch it and cause me hours of work.


    Now your update knocked out my speakers even though my headphones work just fine. If I restart my computer, the speakers work, and when I plug my headphones in, the headphones work. However, when I unplug my headphones the speakers stop working again until I restart. Looking at "event details" in Sound in Device Manager, I see that many files got moved a few days ago. Where did these files get moved to?

    windows update knocked out wireless adaptor

    windows update knocked out wireless adaptor. todays update 21/11/17 knocked out my adaptor. luckily fixed by re installing adaptor drivers.

    Today's (8/8) updates knocked out my sound card (again)

    So, it's out again.

    I fooled around with the settings for hours - finally got it to work. But as Windows is, it needs to be restarted occasionally. When I did, it knocked it out again.

    Windows 10 seems like a fine operating system, but for some reason, it's trashing my audio. I need audio on my PC - if anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.
