Windows 10: Why does Bitlocker startup take so long...hours, not seconds

HP Laptop Spectre x360, 12th Gen Intel Core i7, 2.3GHz; 16 GB RAM with Windows 11 Pro.Upon startup, initial Bitlocker boot, the system has taken up to 3 hours to get to the field to enter the Bitlocker PIN not the Recovery, just the PIN.In order of appearance:The Blue screenThe digital Keyboard on the screen itself, 10-15 minutes laterThe word Bitlocker, 10-15 minutes laterEnter the PIN to unlock the drive, 30-45 minutes laterGray field with flashing cursor, 10-15 minutes laterOnce I finally get past the bitlocker decryption, the Microsoft password appears quickly and the OS starts very

Method 1: I suggest you to start the BitLocker Device Encryption service.

Follow the below steps:

1. Press Windows key + R from the Keyboard.

2. Type services.msc and hit Enter.

3. Search for BitLocker Device Encryption service.

4. Double click on BitLocker Device Encryption service and click on Start button.

5. Click on the dropdown list and set the Startup type to Automatic.

If the issue persists then change the password and change the settings on how drive is unlocked at startup.
