Why does my Windows 10 pro machine have thee active networks listed

    I'm so confused.
And I wonder if I might ask for some help understanding what I'm seeing and why.

I just built a new Windows 10 pro machine from an ISO image.
    NO issues.
    It works fine.
    It pretty much builds itself.

But when I look at my "View your basic Network information and set up connections" screen, I have thee items listed.
NETWORK, NETWORK 2 and NETWORK 3.
    All read "Access Type Internet"
    All read "Connections: Ethernet"

I have one Ethernet card in the pc.
I don't do anything wireless. Yet.

Why do I have three items listed ?

Of the three that are listed. how can I tell which one I am using ?

With Windows 7, I could merge all thee.
With Windows 10, how do I merge all three or delete the two I am not using ?
And once deleted, how to I tell Windows 10 not to create any more the next time the pc re-boots ?

Thanks in advance for any information.

    :)

Windows 10 Activation of an Air Gap or Offline Network

I have an air gap network. This network has no Internet connectivity and, because of security requirements, will not ever have Internet connectivity. I need to upgrade the desktop PCs on this network to Windows 10. The Windows 10 upgrade installs correctly.
However, I am running into problems when I try to activate the installation. I have tried using the specific Windows 7 Pro OEM license that came with the machine from Dell as the activation key but this does not work. Does anyone know how I can perform
an offline activation of Windows 10? I am testing the Windows 7 to Windows 10 upgrade on one machine, but if I can get this to work correctly, I'll need to activate approximately 40 machines.

  3. Windows 10

    Hi Stephen,

You would not be able to use Win 7 Products keys on Windows 10.

What is the activation state of your Win 7 Pro machine? Is it in Active state? if so, you should be able to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro and don't have to enter any Products keys.

    Please check following links:

    Thanks!

showing a pic of what you are seeing and stating the Windows version may also help as Win10 AU has different options to 1511 for example.

the other two may just be the Teredo Tunneling Protocol (for IPV6 i think) and the isatap Adapter which are installed by default.

I have seen on a friend's computer where the Adaptor shows up 3 times but the other two are "Virtual Adaptors"

Open a Admin Command Prompt (RC Start button) and type ipconfig /all then <Enter> and you will get a report......

note the space between the g and /

    Thanks for the reply.
Here is a screen shot from "Winver" as well as a screen shot of my "Basic network information" screen.
I know that my pc is using the network, named "NETWORK".
I have figured out (found on the Internet) how to delete those other two networks that got created somehow.
But I can't figure out why they were created (Thanks for your comments) not how to prevent them from being re-created on the pc restart following their deletion.
Thanks for any additional insights and suggestions.

Additionally, when I perform the Ipconfig /all, it lists three things.
    Ethernet adapter Ethernet
    Tunnel adapter isatap.betasys.com
    Tunnel adapter teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface
Ethernet is my physical Ethernet card. (I believe.)
I'm at a loss as to knowing what the other two things are.
And, I'm really unsure if Network 2 and Network 3 or related to them at all.

Your Windows Version is WAY WAY behind ........ perhaps a year or more i think .240 came out in April 2015.

The Other two as I said are installed by default by Windows 10 , if you uninstall them they will just get reinstalled unless you remove the Protocol too , even then Win10 may reinstall them ? I have not tried to do that , no need too....

ipconfig /all will tell you what the 3 are ... just match the IP address in IPCONFIG to the one in the properties of each Network Adaptor if you are worried. I am not sure why the other two show in the Networking window though.... it maybe just a win10.240 quirk ?

You should down load the latest ISO and do an Inplace Upgrade to the Latest version (1607. called AU too) , as I suspect you are stuck on .240 and not get Major Updates as you should .... I have now seen about 5 Computer with this issue , 4 worked fine with the Inplace Upgrade , 1 I had to Clean install though to get past it.

    There is a Tutorial here:
