Windows 10: Why does my Windows login not work anymore? does not allow me to use my original lock...

My computer has to be plugged in in order to turn on the battery is broken So in order to take it places I have to frequently shut down, unplug, then re-plug. I turned it back on, as usual, however, it did not allow me to use my usual pin to login. My only other option was to log into my Microsoft account. It said due to frequent shutdowns and repeated failed attempts I only attempted once I was no longer allowed to use the pin. This is a strange security feature, that to me doesn't make sense. Is there any way to use my old pin again?

Can't make it much clearer. When you first get a new PC with Win 10. You setup Windows login with password.

You can use your own image of any background and just go to settings/personalize/lock screen and click on browse as in the image below. It should make whatever picture you use as the Lock Screen
